Just days after the Matthew Good Band announced the departure of guitarist Dave
Genn, JAM! Music has learned he has returned to the fold.
A source at
the band's label, Universal Music Canada, confirmed Friday that some time
Thursday, Genn and the rest of the band worked out their differences, and the
guitarist was expected to perform with them at a Sept. 15 show in Saskatoon.
Earlier in the week, Good released a statement saying that Genn was out
of the band, and would be replaced for the forseeable future by Ryan Dahle
(Limblifter, The Age Of Electric).
The quick turnaround is especially
surprising because Good had made it sound in his original announcement as if the
break with Genn had been festering for some time.
"I would like to say
that this news is brand spanking new, but it's been a while in the making, to be
honest," Good said in his original statement, which was first reported at the
fan site www.runningforhome.net.
A reason for the abrupt change-of-heart
was not known.
Meanwhile, Good is planning a book tour to promote the
Oct. 1 release of his collection "At Last There Is Nothing Left To Say," which
is described as manifestos, both previously published at his website and some
brand new material. (More on Matthew Good Band)
